Christ
Church Anglican Adult Education
Our new adult
education series began on Sunday, March 30 with renowned theological
scholar Fr. Grayson Carter teaching about suffering. Fr. Carter
presented a three-part series looking at this universal issue through
the writings of one of the most profound scholars of the 20th Century,
C. S. Lewis. The highly interactive class sessions helped foster
understanding of why bad things happen to good people and how we
as a Christian community can help each other in time of suffering.
Audio files of these sessions are available on the web site.
On Sunday,
April 6, we were honored to have the First Lady of the Anglican
Church of Uganda, Mama Phoebe Orombi, wife of Archbishop Henry Luke
Orombi with us. Mama Orombi reminded us that God wants to have a
relationship with us. She spoke about the global growth of Anglicanism
and how we can further God’s kingdom by bringing His love
to a hurting world through the good work He has begun in us.
Our adult education
classes continue on Sunday mornings until Memorial Day with George
Van De Wyngaerde and Frank Consalvo facilitating St. Paul’s
teaching to the people of Ephesus. George and Hanna Miley, our very
own missionaries, will teach on Wednesday nights on the subject
of mission including how one is gifted and called to a mission.
A light dinner precedes the Wednesday night sessions at 6 PM followed
by class at 7 PM. All sessions are in the church fellowship hall.
Please call Bobbie in the church office: 602-955-2040 if you plan
to attend the dinner before Wednesday evening class so that we can
have enough food for everyone.
Your life will
be enriched by these opportunities. Choose several, or come for
all of them. You will not be disappointed!
