We
commit to live together as a community under the purpose, values,
faith and way of life which God has given to the Church of Jesus
Christ in the New Testament, handed down in the Church from generation
to generation. We proclaim the Lordship of Jesus; serving those
in need; and advancing God’s Kingdom on earth.
We commit to
live together in a humble, loving, sacrificial and Scripturally-based
manner; seeking God’s will as a body and grounding our actions
and decisions in Biblical principles. We glorify God, not ourselves,
in our actions.
We understand
that some may choose to stay with TEC. We respect each individual’s
decision and pray that God will guide all of our actions to the
glorification of His name.
What
Has Been Done?
1- Christ Church Anglican Articles of Incorporation have been accepted
and approved by the Arizona Corporation Commission as a non-profit
Corporation. This letter introduces our new logo and letterhead.
2- Christ Church
Anglican will launch regular services as soon as possible this Fall.
We must establish affiliation with an Anglican bishop prior to celebrating
Eucharist. If necessary, we will meet together for Morning and Evening
Prayer followed by social time for group support during an interim
period.
3- An Anglican
Affiliation Committee has researched and recommended our affiliation
with an Anglican bishop. Please be assured
that many people are working very hard on this important task.
4- Our new
web site will launch on September 14: www.christchurchanglicanaz.org.
5- We have
submitted our application to affiliate with the Anglican Communion
Network and will be working with its Church Planting Office to identify
and call a rector. Until then, we are identifying local resources
to assist us with Sunday worship and pastoral care.
6- A number
of potential sites for CC Anglican worship are being explored by
Wendy Pitha’s Site Location Committee. They will announce
our new worship site shortly.
7- A Stewardship
campaign will soon be in full progress. If you choose to support
Christ Church Anglican, our Stewardship Chair, Marc Smith will be
happy to contact you.
8- Our treasurer
David Cox is assessing funds available and preparing a budget to
fund our first year of operation.
9- Besides
those named above, committee chairs for music, worship and communications
have been appointed. We are focusing special attention on Christian
Education including activities for children and teens. Look for
these announcements as they become available.
10- The first
parish meeting of CC Anglican is planned for October. At this time,
Wardens, Officers and Vestry will be elected.
11- We are
considering formation of small groups to meet in member homes for
support during this transition. If you wish to participate in a
small group ministry you may sign-up with one of the contacts below.
12- We invite
you to join the ever-growing list of those
already committed to Christ Church Anglican. We encourage you to
call one of the starred (*) names to indicate your wish to explore
joining our new Anglican parish.
You will receive
more information soon. God Bless You.
And he who
sat upon the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.”
Also he said, “Write this, for these words are trustworthy
and true.” Revelation 21:5
